Yoga Lab: Jump Back, Jump Through

Saturday February 2nd, 10-12.30 with Mikko

Picture credit: Matthew Sweeney http://www.yogatemple.comIn Astanga yoga the jump backs and jump throughs run like a thread through the seated postures and link them together. These transitional elements are sometimes frustrating, but they can become enjoyable and when understood properly they will deepen the experience of Astanga yoga.

On a physical level the jump backs and throughs will add and test strength and stamina, but they have also a deeper meaning and aspect, as part of the traditional vinyasa system.

In this workshop we will explore:

  • The techniques of lifting up and jumping back into Chaturanga Dandasana
  • The mechanics of jumping through to sitting from Adho Mukha Svanasana
  • The purpose and philosophy of the jump back/through in the practice and Astanga tradition

Workshop is open to all levels with an established practice. Price 150 kr. Registration through eShop or by email.
